Played over the weekend of 16th and 17th July 2011 was a Ryder Cup style competition.
A great weekend of golf although rain on the Saturday threatened to put a damper on proceedings.
The weather on Sunday was almost perfect and the match ended up all square at 12-12.
The 2 Captains, Dave Harris and Martin Oliver were volunteered to re-play the final hole as a decider. This was played out with both teams giving friendly banter along the full length of the hole. This play-off also ended even at 4 apiece, so the captains nominated a player to replay the hole again.
Alan Key was nominated for Team USA and Lee Webster for Team Europe. Unfortunately Lee found the out of bounds down the left over the lake while Alan mashed his drive to within 30 yards of the green. From this moment on the Team USA player only had to maintain his composure to close out the play-off which he did. Team USA retained the trophy and a 1st win for captain Dave Harris who has never before been on the winning team in this competition.
